Well it’s been quite a while since the last update, doesn’t mean things haven’t been happening here at Sawhorse. First of all the news that ‘Strathcarnage’, will no longer be released by Sawhorse Books, it is however to be self published by the author Matt Hamilton and still include the illustrations by myself, Chris Odgers. I’d like to stress that the reasons not to release the book are nothing to do with content or quality of ‘Strathcarnage’, rather a novel in comparison to a picture book is a very time consuming project and one that Sawhorse isn’t really set up for, it was getting increasingly difficult to keep everything balanced and was thought for the best of ‘Strathcarnage’ and Sawhorse Books that we take a step back and help Matt publish the book himself. More news as things move forward but it shouldn’t be too long before it hits the shelves.
Illustration wise I’ve been busy working on a set of covers for American horror publisher ‘Cemetery Dance Publications’, the covers are for their hardback comic book line ‘Grave Tales’, the first of which can be seen/pre-ordered here.
While there please stay a while and check out their other quality productions, some really great stuff there.
Work has also begun on the pencils/artwork for my next book, which I mentioned before is a sort of rather macabre Bonnie and Clyde adventure, updates on the story and some teaser artwork to follow very soon. I’m pretty excited about it!
